What is Double The Love and how does it work?  

From 11 November 2025, donations made to Mary’s Meals Ireland will be doubled thanks to The Tom Cunningham Trust. Regular donations set up during this period will be doubled for the first three payments.  

You can donate in a range of ways or by setting up a regular gift during the campaign period – meaning we can reach even more hungry children with a nutritious meal at school.   

Does this match funding apply to all donations?  

All monetary donations raised from 11 November will be doubled, except for:  

• Donations already pledged, for example existing regular gifts or expected grants
• Legacy donations
• Certain items purchased from our online shop (see below)
• New donations from trusts and foundations, unless Double the Love is cited as a motivating factor
• Donations as a result of foreign currency exchange collections.  
    

Will funds raised through items bought in your online shop be doubled?  

Gift cards, digital gift cards, and our range of life-changing digital gifts will be doubled. This is because buying these items is classed as a donation.  

  
Will my regular gift be doubled?  

Until the end Double the Love, any new regular gifts will be matched for the first three payments. 
  
Will donations to my Sponsor a School project be doubled?  

Yes, any donation made towards your fundraising goal will be doubled. Once the school is fully funded, any donations made over and and above your target will be allocated to general fundraising. This will help to feed even more hungry children across all the countries that we work in.  

Can you claim tax relief during the Double the Love campaign?  

Donations to a charity are tax effective if you donate €250 or more in one calendar year. We can claim tax relief on donations made during Double the Love, so please complete our CHY3 form and find out more information here. However, the tax relief amount cannot be doubled.   
  

Can funds I raised before 11 November 2025, but haven’t yet donated, be doubled?  

To be eligible for match funding, all funds must be raised during the match period (from 11 November). Funds raised before this time cannot be matched regardless of when these are paid in.   

 
Do I need to make my donation by a certain date for it to be doubled?  

Funds must be received from 11 November until Double the Love ends on 12th January.   

Will a donation made by corporates be doubled? 

Yes, donations from corporates will be doubled, as long as they reach us after 11 November and before 12th January.   

How will the money be spent?  

Funds raised during Double the Love will allow Mary’s Meals to provide daily school meals to even more hungry children in the world’s poorest countries where we work.   

Who has provided this funding?  

The Tom Cunningham Trust has provided this funding to help us reach even more hungry children with Mary’s Meals.
