In more ways than one, mums make Mary’s Meals. From the loving volunteers who prepare the food, to our dedicated supporters all around the world who give so much. And of course, our charity is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her child in poverty.

In the 18 countries where we serve our life-changing meals, it is most often mothers who volunteer to prepare, cook and serve the food.

They do this so that their children, and children living in their communities, can have the chance of a better life.

Mariam, from India, is one of those women. She says: “I myself didn’t go to school.

“I’m totally illiterate and I don’t want the children of my community to be the same. I hope they become educated. I’d like my son, Pradip, to finish school with good results.”

Mother's Day colouring-in card

The inspiring illustrator Johanna Basford has generously donated a lovely image which can be downloaded below and coloured in, by children and adults alike, to give to someone special.

If you enjoy colouring in this card please consider a donation to feed a hungry child. No matter how big or small, your donation will help us provide life-changing meals to some of the world's poorest children every school day.
