Fireside Miscellany - €1 from each book sold goes to Mary’s Meals

Author, Denis O’ Higgins will donate €1 to Mary’s Meals from the sale of each copy of his new book “Fireside Miscellany – A collection of Irish Memories, Meanderings and History.”

Denis O’ Higgins and his wife Josephine, a founding member of the Monaghan Mary’s Meals supporter group, have published a new short story collection. It is a wonderful cache of reflections on rural life in Ireland, using humour, love, realism and honesty. It comes highly recommended by author PJ Cunningham, as “engaging and compelling”.

The stories are true to life about growing up in Ireland in the 50s and 60s on small farms. It is a very interesting read including historical stories of journeying around the country and further afield.

Launched in Monaghan on 2 November 2018, it is now available in all good book shops including Eason’s in Co. Monaghan and Co. Cavan, Bookstation outlets Nationwide, Newsround Newsagents in Co. Roscommon and Co. Longford and can also be found in the Costcutter in Rostrevor, Co. Down.

The book retails for €10 with €1 from each book sold donated Mary’s Meals.
