Volunteer opportunities

Lending us a hand during your spare time – even if it’s just a few hours a week – is a valuable contribution you can make to our work.

Here are just some of the ways you can help.

If you’d like to know more about volunteering with Mary’s Meals, please contact us.

Community Ambassador

Spread the word about Mary’s Meals in your community, encouraging support and enabling people to contribute in whatever way they can. You will be given full training and support to promote our work and campaigns with confidence, and the role can be tailored to suit your own particular skills.

Some examples of what Community Ambassadors do to promote our work include telling our story, placing collection cans with local shops and businesses, assisting with fundraising events, and representing Mary’s Meals in their own local area.

Host a fundraising event

Any fundraising event, no matter how small, will make a real and lasting difference to some of the world’s poorest children and their families.

Whether you’re planning to sell cakes, pack bags in your local supermarket, host a fashion show, or get sponsored to do something wacky, we’d love to know about it and send you our fundraising pack. Please drop us a line.

Join us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and share, like and retweet everything we post. Simple!

Mail-out volunteer

We keep our wonderful supporters up-to-date on our work through our quarterly updates. Our helpers fill and frank envelopes and pack the mail ready to be sent out. Each mail-out takes a few days to complete, but we’d love to hear from you even if you can only pop in for an hour or two!

Corporate volunteering and donating in kind

We are also grateful for practical help from volunteers who donate a portion of their normal working hours to us, through workplace social responsibility schemes. Similarly, sometimes we need practical help and generous companies are willing to help by donating materials, services, and expertise. To find out how your company or employees can help us reach the next child, just get in touch!
